About Me
Paintballer, Mechanic, Nerd
Howdy Y'all! My name is Riley Dodson, a passionate paintballer who loves playing shooty-ball with my friends and has just enough knowledge and ambition to create and make gadgets that make my work a little easier. I'm a Mechanic by day and if I'm not wrenching on one of my projects, I'm usually indulging my inner nerd with the latest tech and video games. Join me as broaden my horizons both the paintball field and the shop!

My Story
I have always been a tinker, and sometimes it's gotten me into trouble. When I was 6 I took apart my mom's sewing machine just to see how it worked. After the earful I got from her when she found out, my parents realized I had a knack for tinkering, taking things apart to see how they worked, and sometimes (but not always) put them back together.

I got my first 3D printer in the summer of 2015 and printed some fun little trinkets. As I learned more about 3D designing, I started making circuit board mounts and pieces for test-fitting to our FSAE car in college at the University of North Dakota. That was where I learned the real challenge of designing and choosing the right materials. Shortly after coming back to my hometown in Texas, I started working at a Ford dealership and man, did that feed and challenge my tinkering mind! After installing many, many seals and removing a lot of fuel injectors, I made a few tools that help install those seals and kept the injectors organized and protected. Fast forward 5 years and I'm now a Senior Master Mechanic for Ford and everyone in our shop has at least one of the gadgets I've made and some are used almost daily.

I picked up playing paintball when I got a wild hair and decided to head to my local Paintball shop, Paintball Gateway and Airsoft. After getting my first setup and playing with some of the locals, that later became my teammates, at DFW adventure part and Giant Party Sports. I decided to take on the challenge of designing gadgets for paintball. I made several battery trays that fit into different pack-out style boxes to hold over 100 AA and 9V batteries for our pitcrew and a few MVP pieces for the youth team. After a little push from friends and family, I decided to take my ambition and gadgets and share it with the paintball and automotive community.
